1. Who we are

Critical Alerts is a personal notification service that provides automated alerts via WhatsApp, phone calls, and popup notifications based on events in Google Calendar.

2. What data we process

To provide the service, we may process the following categories of data:

• Google account identifier (email address): used to identify the user in the service.
• Google Calendar event data: such as event title, start/end time, and location (if present), used only to generate timely notifications.
• Phone number: used to send WhatsApp messages and/or place phone call alerts (if enabled by the user).
• Notification preferences: chosen channels and timing (e.g., 24h/1h/15 min before an event), including repeat settings.
• Technical logs (limited): basic operational logs used for debugging and service reliability.

3. Purpose of processing

We use the data strictly to:

• Retrieve upcoming calendar events that the user authorizes us to monitor
• Send notifications according to the user’s preferences
• Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service

4. Sharing and third-party processors

We do not sell personal data. To provide the service, certain data may be processed by the following service providers:

• Google (OAuth and Google Calendar API) – for authentication and reading calendar events.
• Twilio (WhatsApp / Voice) – for delivering WhatsApp messages and phone call notifications when enabled.

5. Data storage and retention

We store only what is necessary to provide the service, such as notification preferences and authentication tokens required to access Google Calendar on the user’s behalf.

Data is retained as long as the user uses the service, or until the user requests deletion. We may retain limited technical logs for a short period for security and debugging purposes.

6. Your rights and deletion requests

You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting: kontakt@kritiskevarslinger.no.

You can also revoke the app’s access to your Google Account at any time from your Google Account settings under “Third-party access” (removing access will stop calendar processing and notifications).

7. Security

We apply access controls and store only the information required to deliver the notification service. We take reasonable measures to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
